Periosteum Massage (PM) is performed at the outer layer of the periosteum, an independent procedure of medical massage treatment which uses special techniques with trigger points that cures changes around peristeum, It is a method of neuroreflex therapy and is performed in order to eliminate changes around peristeum. These kinds of changes are characterized by retractions, indentations and swellings. Periosteum is a dense fibrous membrane covering the surface of bones (except at their extremities) and serves as an attachment for tendons and muscles. Beneath the hard layer, there are tunnels and canals through which nerves, blood and lymphatic vessels run to carry nourishment for the bone.
